The Problem
The creators of Reward Insights needed to partner with a trusted company for their non-profit website design. They saw a solution to the funding issues many other non-profits ran into for their missions but didn’t have the technical knowledge to make it happen adequately.
The vision they had would provide relief to socio-economically challenged families through donations and loans from those able to give to the cause. In addition, those donating would be able to and needed a secured website to process the loans and donations. Further, the website would need to function with little user input to disburse the funds to the designated recipients.
They also needed the website to be user-friendly and mobile-compatible to access the programs and view their donation accounts from anywhere. One of the more unique features of the website concept was the reward system in place for those who invested or donated regularly.
The previously explored options could do some of the things needed, but couldn’t hit all the marks. Many of the rewards and processes needed to be automated. There was no perfect solution on the market, so a bespoke custom-built website was their only option. They partnered with the Orange County Boutique web design company, Idea Maker.
Our Solution
After consulting with Reward Insights, Idea Maker created a plan. Our team discussed the needs, wishes, and hopes of this website with the people responsible for the idea and walked them through our tried and true website development process. The process for a non-profit website design isn’t much different than a for-profit design. We knew from the start that we had the right team to make this project a reality.
We had lengthy discussions with many different minds on the project to pinpoint exactly what needed to be done, we determined that we could create the perfect customized website and automate much of it to work without more than essential user input. Thus, the Idea Maker’s team collaborated to create a beautiful and functional website using a combination of systems.
Our experts created a perfect function by combining Django, Linux, Nginx, Gunicorn, React, JavaScript and JQuery. Each facet of the design added to the functionality and helped simplify the end product’s usefulness. These varied programming languages allowed this custom non-profit website design to do many different things that overlapped seamlessly.
Non-Profit Website Design
With our team’s expertise and the Reward Insights creators, we were breaking ground on a project that had the potential to change lives.
What We Did
PDF Reader and e-Signatures for Legal Documents
When you’re dealing with money and investing, you have many legal obligations to the customers you work with. We installed an easy-to-use PDF reader to convey important documents to donors and lenders, and those who benefited from our contributors.
Payment Processing (ACH & Credit Card)
Using Plaid and Stripe to create a cohesive and dependable payment processing system was one of the main critical points of this website build—further, much of the process needed to be custom-coded to automate transaction fees to the correct accounts. For example, When a loan is taken, the transaction fees are shouldered by the borrower. At the same time, the transaction fees are the responsibility of donors when they donate. Plaid — a banking system, and Stripe – a credit card processing system, were used to ensure the best rates and highest protections were available for everyone involved.
Supporter Portal
We created a user-friendly dashboard for our supporters; the dashboard is easy to use and regularly updated. This dashboard provides a place for donors to monitor their donations, loans, contributions, and earnings.
