The Problem
As eCommerce catalogs grow, it becomes increasingly difficult for customers to find the products they need. Connecting customers with products most likely to satisfy their requirements can also be challenging when there’s so much to offer. So, in order to remedy this problem, we built an AI chatbot for eCommerce website integration–we call it Merceo.ai.
Our Solution
Based on a retrieval augmentation generation (RAG) framework and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, we built an AI chatbot that seamlessly integrates into eCommerce websites through Shopify, WordPress, and WhatsApp. To ensure this platform works effectively, we then leveraged LangChains and embeddings, enabling us to transform website data into a machine-digestible format that makes data processing simple. Now, the AI system, Merceo, helps users connect with products most relevant to their needs without having to endlessly scroll through product pages.
What We Did
Natural Language Search
Users can easily search for products using natural language in the Merceo chatbot window. This gives the impression of talking with a real human shop assistant, as it’s dedicated to helping customers find products that match their needs. In other words, Merceo.ai is poised to significantly improve any online shopping experience.
Seamless Platform Integration
The Merceo AI chatbot system seamlessly integrates with several platforms besides websites. For example, Merceo can be used within Whatsapp, Discord, and any other chat system that enables API use. It’s also secured using Microsoft Azure Service, so you won’t need to worry about the security of your personal data on these apps.
Product Links
Product links are available directly within the Merceo.ai chat window, making it easier than ever to navigate eCommerce websites. This means customers won’t have to endlessly scroll through product pages and directories to find items suited to their needs and interests. Instead, they can conveniently find products directly within the Merceo system.
